about

Laurent Garnier - Very cool tracks!
Pillowtalk - eclectic, beautiful and different!
LTJ Bukem - Loving this album

Mark Evemport’s new album, ‘Maikai’ sees the Italian born producer, or more suited ‘musician’, continuing to explore all musical landscapes. This album comes on East London’s own ‘Zombie Soundsystem’, whose releases have gathered great support from Maceo Plex, Alex Niggeman and Sante amongst others...
Born in 1982, he inherited the passion from his grandfather who was a classical musician, and we can see the influence in this album. Each track is perfectly composed bordering on techno, house and ambient. Each track is a different journey, exploring all corners of house and electronic music, some darker than others.
Having bought his first pair of turntables at 16, inspired by the likes of Louie Vega and Kerry Chandler, this album shows how Evemport has innovated the genre, making his productions unique and his own, while still staying true to his roots. While ‘Maikai' opens with a harmoniously melodic opening titled ‘Kelun’, an uplifting track suited to a sunrise set, the album sees all walks of the genre with tracks such as ‘Orde’ and ‘Ewue’. These heavily percussive tracks have a darker, more tribal vibe to them, further showing Evemport’s diversity in the studio.
