Zombie Soundsystem is the essential club focussed label of Shane Watcha and here the man himself steps up to remix one of the tracks on Spatial Awareness' hot new EP, Silfay, whilst tech master Ray Okpara serves up the other remix. Spatial Awareness is a Southend on Sea based producer who has picked up many fans, plaudits and plays for his on point house, tech and disco. It comes on labels like Hottwerk Records, Twirl! and Corsair, but he has saved his best for the Zombie Soundsystem label once again. A life long vinyl hoarder and eternally inspired by the Paradise Garage, he makes real music with real passion and joins the dots between the past, present and future when he does so. Silly is the opener and is a slow burning, deep down and gritty groover with neat chord stabs, lazy perc and searching synths that spray over the horizon searching for life. Its a patient, intoxicating cut that will surely get the floor moving. Ray Okpara has long been a tech house master, turning out many great tracks on labels like Olso, Area Remote and Mobilee. Here he goes even deeper than the original, layers in some spooky, chilly splashes of synth and keeps the drums rolling on long into a dark night. Then comes the remix from Shane Watcha, which is the most ghoulish and freaky of the lot thanks to far off vocals, coal black synths and eerie pads that really make for a hunting tech house groove. This is another essential EP from the Zombie label that is sure to get lots of hammer this Autumn.
